Today I’d like to share some of our first impression of our 2019 Forest River No Boundaries 10.6 and some things that we really like about the overall trailer and some things we dislike about it and why we went with the certain model.
Overland Trailer
I started getting into overlanding in my 2019 ford ranger. I became rigging it up with the rack and an ikamper roof top tent. What I also like to do is dirt biking and therefor I had a hitch carrier made for the back of the ranger and that is how I’d haul my bike and go camping. When Tess and I started dating the set up worked great until Tess joined the dirt bike club and we got her a Kx 125. So when we went camping we had to take both my truck with the roof top tent and her truck with the dirt bikes and riding gear. I picked us up some radios so we could still chat on our drives but it wasn’t much enjoyable.
I began my research for a little toy hauler and possibly building one that would haul the bikes and gear for when we go on our adventures. Then I stumbled across a couple of trailers that really caught my eye and would solve our dilemma that we had. The two that stood our were the Intech Flyer Explorer and the Forest River NoBo 10.6. We found a used NoBo 10.6 for sale for a steal of a deal we couldn’t refuse.
First Impression
Tess and I began our 4 hour drive to go look at this trailer, pretty well knowing we were going to be super excited once we got there and would most likely take it. As we rolled up some of our first impressions were how tiny the trailer looked, but it looked like it was built for going our into the wild and would handle the off-road. Once we started walking around and getting in and our of it and checking all the features it has to offer. I was like a kid in a candy store and I could start envisioning our trips and all the things we could do with the camper. The storage it had was a tray in the floor and little closet and next to the closet was an open shelf that had a stretchy net to keep are stuff inside there. I did have a hard time imagining us putting two dirt bikes in the trailer that’s for sure. But I’m super glad we bought this trailer.
Cargo and Storage
With the NoBo 10.6 being a toy hauler and you can remove or stack the cushions up to have lots of room for your gear. We found the top shelf part of the storage in side was good for our sleeping stuff and clothing and that sure filled that up quick. The closet part I found kind of unpractical so we use it for our drone and camera gear and some board games and stuff like that. Dirt bikes I found were very difficult to figure our, After trying with them forwards and backwards and one going the oppesite direction I found that the only way to tie them down was if I pushed them in backwards. That was not the easiest as the ramp is pretty steep and when you start getting inside the trailer you were all bunched up. Due to where the tire downs are located in the trailer the bikes had to go in backwards and suck into the door which I then used a piece of blocking so there wasn’t that pressure on the door. The bikes and dirt bike gear sure filled the trailer up pretty quick.
The Kitchen
NO MORE ICE, What… I was so happy that this trailer had come with a 12volt fridge. I think that was one of my biggest pet peeves was ice to keep our food and stuff cold cause by day 2 your food and everything starts to get wet and just was not very enjoyable. So the cooler to me was the best thing ever. The NoBo has a side compartment that we found fit some spices our utensils and some other small kitchen essentials. This camper also come with a little sink which had a crack in it from the previous owner so we had to replace that. This camper come with a coiled garden hose that attached just buy the sink, the camper has a shocking amount of water storage for the size of trailer it is, 110 plus liters of water we can haul in our water tank. Never thought we’d need water our camping till we had it, washing dishes and even rinsing off after a ride was like living in luxury. The camper come equipped with a little two burner stove top, it was super small and it didn’t take long till I had melted the dials that were on top when cooking some steak on a griddle plate. I definitely was not a fan of the stove top and was definitely looking for an alternative. Another thing was the awning. The awning it has is a 270 degree awning which is awesome and supplies you with a lot of coverage, except the kitchen slide our it does not cover which sucks.
My Opinion
Overall this has been a great camper, we had a few hiccups along the way but slowly we are building it into the camper we’ve been dreaming of. I’m in love with the camper even with the few things I had to complain about but overall it has been great and we both love it. Hope you took something from this and if you have any question feel free to ask. And stay tuned cause next we will talk about some mods that we have done to make this camper a dream camper and toy hauler.
Thank you so much for posting a picture of the two bikes inside. We have been doing research on mini toy haulers and none of the videos show how the bikes fit in. Pretty tight, but at least they do get in.
Thank you for the comment. We have found ways to improve out loading of the bikes that has made a huge difference. Check out our YouTube as well some videos on there of me loading the bikes up.
